Meet Darby: The Cheeky Romantic

The 10" Glitterwood Guild Grande Size — Item #7 (Signed 1-of-1 Original Art Assemblage)

Darby is a smooth-talking charmer with a playful secret up his sleeve. Featuring a distinct, knowing little smirk and a mischievous side-glance, he sits with a completely captivated, starry-eyed look on his face. He is undeniably thinking of someone special, but with a clever, devious twinkle in his eye that gives him a wonderful mid-century swagger. Darby brings a lively spark of romance, wit, and playful affection to the Guild—proving that love is always better with a little bit of mischief.
The Craftsmanship & Materials:
  • The Figurine: An unaltered, authentic, character-rich mid-century ceramic pixie figurine, hand-selected for his exceptionally clever expression, knowing smile, and side-eye gaze.
  • The Canopy: A vintage-inspired mercury glass mushroom, heavily the cap encrusted in genuine, German silver glass glitter. This premium glitter casts a brilliant, multi-faceted diamond shimmer that modern materials simply cannot replicate, developing a rich, historical patina over time.
  • The Accents: Vintage green glass bubbles with a red berry accent are scattered across the mushroom cap and base, representing a thought bubble every time Darby thinks of his someone special. Do be careful handling these.
  • The Foundation: Built upon a rustic, natural wood slice base beautifully wrapped in curated, authentic vintage wallpaper.
The Build:
Affixing a completely rigid, unbendable mid-century ceramic figurine onto a rounded glass mushroom cap required a special technique that is nearly invisible. Darby and the embellishments have been painstakingly joined to the mushroom cap using a hidden contact technique.

Specifications:
  • Dimensions: 10" Tall x 5". Fits beautifully on holiday mantles, tiered trays, or bookshelves.
  • Provenance: Hand-signed and numbered 1 of 1 by the artist. Includes an official archival-grade Glitterwood Guild Certificate detailing Darby's unique character profile.
  • Storage: Darby will arrive in a decorative yet sturdy box to keep him safe throughout the years. Since real silver will tarnish over time leaving a wonderful heirloom finish, we do recommend keeping him in the plastic covering he arrived in, inside the padded box in between seasons.
